Account Balance

Account Balance is the same as Total Balance. It includes current balance due, pending balance and future bookings. Please allow time for payment activity to be reflected.

 

Available Credit

Available Credit is the remaining borrowable amount of a set credit limit.

 

Average Daily Rate (ADR)

Average Daily Rate is an industry term that means the average paid amount for a night spent at a hotel by all guests over a given period.

 

Average Nightly Rate

Average Nightly Rate is similar to Average Daily Rate (ADR). It means the average paid amount for a night spent at a hotel by all guests over a given period.

 

Balance Due

Balance Due is the amount owed on unpaid bookings that have been invoiced.

 

Best Available Rate (BAR)

Best Available Rate is an industry term that typically describes the lowest rate available at a given hotel. Hotel Engine offers savings on BARs.

 

Contract

The contract describes the binding documentation for a reservation at a property.

 

Credit Limit

Credit Limit is the total borrowable amount on an account.

 

Direct Billing

When enabled, Direct Billing allows Admins to receive billable invoices for property stays directly from Hotel Engine instead of paying up front via ACH or credit card.

 

Flex

Flex is a booking option that gives Travelers more flexibility to cancel or shorten a reservation.

 

Folio

A folio is a receipt given to a guest from the hotel.

 

Future Balance

Future Balance reflects the balance of confirmed bookings beyond the next billing period.

 

GSA

GSA stands for General Service Administration and typically refers to GSA rates. Established by the GSA, lodging rates are used to set the maximum domestic Per Diem rate (allowance for lodging excluding taxes) for federal travelers. Many companies use GSA rates as a benchmark for their travel costs to set the maximum reimbursement rate for property stays.

 

Engine Rewards

Engine Rewards is Engine’s reward program that allows members to earn points for every completed reservation. Points can be redeemed for future reservations.

 

Hotel Loyalty

Hotel loyalty programs are specific to certain hotel brands. A member can add a hotel loyalty program number to their account to earn points for every completed reservation at that hotel.

 

Pending Balance

Pending Balance is the amount owed on confirmed bookings in the next billing period.

 

Savings

Savings are calculated by comparing the best available rate from our suppliers to the Hotel Engine Exclusive rate booked.

 

Total Balance

Total Balance includes the current balance due, pending balance and future bookings. Please allow time for payment activity to be reflected.

 

Travel Credit

Travel Credit is awarded directly to an account for a variety of reasons and can be used for any future booking on Hotel Engine for up to one year from the date it was issued.

 

Travel Policy

A Travel Policy outlines the booking rules and regulations set by a company’s Admin for its members.
