- Log in and Navigate: Log into you Engine account and select the Cars option from the homepage. This will lead you to the car rental inventory.
- Search for a Rental: Search for available vehicles from Engine's inventory. Our platform partners with over 40 car rental brands, offering a diverse range of options.
- Specify Pick-up and Drop-off Details:
- By default, the option is checked to keep the pick-up and drop-off locations are the same is checked. If you need different locations for a one-way trip, uncheck this option and search for a new drop-off location.
- Select specific pick-up and drop-off times. There must be at least a 2-hour gap between these times.
- Provide Driver's Age: You must provide the driver's age. Individuals under 19 are not eligible. The car rental company will verify this information at pick-up.
- Apply Corporate Discount Code (Optional): If you have a corporate discount code from your company, use it during booking. These codes offer special rates and benefits. You cannot add a corporate code after booking; you would need to cancel and re-book to apply it. For details, contact your company's Engine administrator.
- Select Payment Option: You will encounter three payment options:
- Pay at Time of Booking: Full payment is processed upfront to secure the vehicle. Direct Bill can be used.
- Pay at Pick-Up: Reserve the vehicle in advance without upfront payment, and pay directly at the rental desk when you pick up the car. Direct Bill can not be used for these reservations.
- Pay Partially: Pay part of the rental cost upfront, and the rest (typically local taxes and fees) at pick-up.
- Important Note: Regardless of the chosen payment method, insurance must be purchased at the time of booking.
- Provide Personally Identifiable Information (PII): During checkout, you will be prompted to provide your first name, last name, email address, and phone number. Due to this, Member Support can not make car bookings on your behalf.
- Confirm Valid Credit Card and Loyalty Numbers:
- You must confirm that the person driving has a valid credit card in their name to provide at the desk upon pick-up.
- You can spend Travel Credits and Engine Rewards, but you cannot earn them for car reservations.
- You can enter loyalty numbers for major loyal brands during booking to continue earning points and status directly with the rental car provider.
- Complete Booking: Follow the prompts to finalize your reservation. A unique reference number starting with "C" followed by seven letters and numbers will be generated and included in your confirmation email. Use this number if you need to reach out to the Member Support team for assistance with your rental.
